1) Ease the Transition to College Life - Spending four to six days on a trip with eight other new students is a great way to make friends before orientation begins.  Most students stay connected with both their co-trippers and upperclassmen guides.  Student can also plug into the greater Outdoor Odyssey community of other trippers and guides.

2) Trained Student Guides - All Outdoor Odyssey guides are upperclassmen students with current CPR & Wilderness First Aid certification and an extensive outdoor background.  Guides go through a semester long training program covering safety, outdoor skills and interpersonal skills.  New students get a chance to gain first hand knowledge about Cornell, Ithaca, and college life from their student guides.

3) Cornell Tradition - Odyssey has been serving students for over 35 years and more than 5000 students have participated in an Odyssey program.  With a long history of helping students, Odyssey is well known and valued highly on campus among students, faculty and staff.
