Day 0: Friday, August 9th: Trip participants arrive between 11:00AM and 1:00PM at Cornell, trip participants and their guides meet and begin to get to know each other, prepare their belongings for the trip and have a trip dinner (usually at one of the restaurants in Collegetown). Trip participants and their guides sleep on the Arts Quad.
Day 1: The trip is awoken bright and early and departs for the Adirondacks.
Day 6: All trips return to Ithaca for Camp-O-Rama, a closing ceremony and celebration of the Outdoor Odyssey trips. Trip participants clean their gear, share a meal with other trips, and get the chance to meet some of the ~200 other participants.
Move in Day: Friday, August 18th: Trip is shuttled back to Bartels Hall, where the participants return their rented gear as a group. Once all gear is returned, trip participants are free to register at Barton Hall and move into their dorms. Oftentimes, guides will help their trip participants move in.
Physical Activity Level: When backpacking, expect to cover 4-8 miles a day with a full-size pack over somewhat difficult terrain. The trails are generally not super steep or difficult, but can have some significant uphill spots and rocky terrain. When rock climbing, there are always many options available to choose from, so whether you are rock climbing for the first time, or perfecting your climbing skills, you will have the chance to learn many things about the sport of rock climbing on your trip.  This trip requires no previous rock climbing experience and will be a great excursion for people of all experience levels!
